I am the High School Art teacher at Fayette High School.  I graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a Bachelors in Art Education.  I grew up here in Columbia, MO and my artwork reflects some of my favorite places. My landscape paintings are based on the areas where I have spent many hours hiking and drawing.

Taking my oil pastels and pine boards with me as I go hiking, has really changed my art making process.  Nature has always had a draw for me, it makes me feel at peace. After I get back to my studio I create paintings, based on these drawings, that represent my experiences and the time spent in these locations.

While landscape work makes up much of my portfolio, I also have created figural works, flower paintings, and an array of ceramic pieces.  These pieces are about capturing the energy of that moment and exploring how to depict color in different environments.
